Liberman Spotlight: Transforming Youth Recovery

The Habif Health and Wellness Center was recently awarded a $10,000 grant through Transforming Youth Recovery, a nonprofit organization founded in 2013. Across the nation, many college and university students in recovery from alcohol and/or drug use struggle without support. Over the past few years, some universities have increased their programming and networks to help provide targeted support to these students. This grant will help WashU better provide that support.

The ultimate goal is to create a sustainable recovery program on the Danforth campus that provides a safe, supportive, and fun environment for students in recovery from substance use disorders and other addictive behaviors. This is where you can help!

Our first event will be held on February 28th at 6pm in DUC 248. This casual meet-and-greet session will include free pizza and coffee. This will be an opportunity for students to engage with peers in a similar situation and to hear about future support resources. This event is open to all undergraduate, graduate, and professional students who feel they would benefit from this group.
