Associate Dean Elaine Berland works with the Graduate Council, the Professional and Graduate Student Coordinating Committee (ProGradS), and the Trustee Research-Graduate Affairs Committee on new policies and initiatives related to graduate academic and student affairs.  As Director of the Graduate Center and advisor to the GSS, GPC and university-wide graduate student groups, she works to promote graduate student leadership, shared governance and interdisciplinary opportunities.  Dean Berland serves as the Academic Integrity Officer for the Graduate School and liaison to the Career Center the the Teaching Center.  She administers the Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence (TA's); the Presidential Management Fellowship program; New Graduate Student Orientation programs, and the Graduate Student Handbook publication.  She is the founding director of the National Conference on Graduate Student Leadership.
